Adenique Lisse

Graduate Student

Adenique Lisse, M.A. is a fifth-year doctoral student. Adenique was a master’s student at St. John’s University, and worked as a research assistant for the Child Mind Institute’s Healthy Brain Network prior to her start at UConn. Her clinical interests focus on trauma and resilience, with a particular focus on individuals from underrepresented and under-resourced groups.  Her research focuses on the role of beliefs about emotion expression in maladaptive emotion regulation processes among clinical populations.  She is particularly interested in how experiences of childhood maltreatment and adversity shape the beliefs adults have about expressing emotions to others, and treatments that can target unhelpful beliefs.
